Putting the Right People in the Right Place: Executive Search for HIMSS
Designing and implementing an exciting new business idea is hard work—but so is finding people who can champion that idea post-launch. That was the challenge of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (better known as HIMSS) when they created Accelerate Health, a digital platform for healthcare innovators. Needing a sales dream team who could attract sponsors and participants, HIMSS engaged Phase2 Health for executive search support.

How we did it
Phase2 Health launched a comprehensive executive search program to support Accelerate Health’s ongoing business development needs. As part of that program, we created ideal talent profiles at the outset of our engagement with HIMSS—and then implemented a rigorous and network-based search strategy to source and place personnel by experience and workplace fit. Throughout, we involved our expansive executive search networks, which include hundreds of high-performing, well-credentialed individuals and referral sources.
After candidates were identified, we coordinated outreach and interviews until HIMSS successfully selected and onboarded their new business development team.
Results and reactions
In August 2021, Accelerate Health had a successful launch connecting health industry professionals with peers, thought leaders, professional development tools, networking opportunities and curated content.
